Toni Braxton - Un-break My Heart

Un-Break My Heart is an R&B / soul song recorded by American singer Toni Braxton, for her 1996 second studio album, Secrets. It was written by Diane Warren.

The theme of the ballad centres on heart break, as Braxton plays the protagonist who pleads with a departed lover to return and undo the pain he caused her.

LaFace Records released the song as the second single from the album on November 11 1996. It subsequently achieved commercial success globally, thus earning the songstress a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 1997 39th Annual Grammy Awards.

The single peaked at number one (1) on the US Billboard Hot 100 while reaching number two (2) on the UK singles chart.

In conclusion, at the celebration of Billboard’s 40 years of charting (from 1958 to 1998), Un-Break My Heart was proclaimed the most successful song by a solo artist in the history of the Billboard Hot 100.
