Ex-Arsenal captain Gilberto Silva announces retirement

Former Arsenal captain Gilberto Silva has announced his retirement.

Gilberto, now 39, has been playing for Atletico Mineiro at home in Brazil.

"It is a moment that can be classified as both sad and annoying, but no matter how painful it is, I've had 20 wonderful years of football.

"Therefore, I will remember the joy," said Gilberto.
