Last Christmas is a synthpop Christmas song by English pop duo Wham!, from their third and final studio album Music from the Edge of Heaven, released in 1984.
The song was written and produced by George Michael, and has since been covered by many artists.
Wham!‘s version peaked at the number two spot on the UK Singles chart, not doing so well on the US Billboard Hot 100 at number forty-one. The track eventually topped the charts in Ireland and Slovenia, and has been certified 2x platinum in Australia.
Tidbit: This song’s melody was interpolated from Can’t Smile Without You, the 1978 single by Barrow Manilow.
