I stood at the balcony.. A glass of Royale Challenge in hand, From the balcony I could see Asokoro. I was in Abuja as a Corper with 2 months to passout life has been fair to me I thought.

Then I heard it T.Y dolla sign and Jerimih’s Take your time.. blarring from my iPhone I picked my call and what I heard was Aromate.. You see this story isn’t about Abuja naa it’s about another place Bayelsa… My name is Giddi I grew up in Port Harcourt and unlike everyone else my childhood was different. At birth I was handed to my aunt by my parents so till today my aunt is my mother. I grew up alone without siblings..to make things worse my dad (aunt’s husband) lived abroad before returning to Nigeria so he brought me up like a foreigner as a result I was locked up. I didn’t know how to associate with people, I had no friends. My biological parents later had two children who are my younger ones I’m the first.


At 10 I was sent to an all boys catholic boarding school.. That was a total disaster for me at 16 I finished secondary school coming out with two qualifications my W.A.E.C and a Diploma in nerdiology. I was the perfect nerd. I was shy around girls. I Still didn’t have any friends Cuz in school I was odd. I was a good boy, very naive, nerdy, weird and I always kept to myself, I didn’t go out except I was on errands, as for parties that was a tabboo. By 18 yrs I got a text which changed my life. I had gotten admission to study biochemistry at the prestigious Niger Delta University (ndu) Bayelsa State. I wanted to become a doctor and I wrote post ume for medicine but ona know 9ja pattern na..

Na once dem press me biochemistry… I wanted to decline the admission but my parents urged me to accept it and like a good boy I obeyed them… This is my reflection Join me….
