Today my parents finally took emeka to court which will determine the punishment for his crime..
*
emeka’s dad hired a lawyer to defend and prove him innocent, my parents also hired a lawyer for me..
there was no way emeka could deny that he didn’t commit the crime because there was a lot of evidence,like a video of him raping me,his uniforms..
he was suppose to be charged the usual punishment of a rapist which is life imprisonment or 10yrs imprisonment but due to the he fact that he was still under age(17yrs)..

JUDGE:therefore you are hereby pleaded guilty and given a 3 months imprisonment..

Emeka:nooo pls am sorry,I beg you in the name of God (as he fell on the floor),his mum and dad ran to him in tears as they picked him up,his sister also ran towards him and gave him the longest hug he had ever had, her tears was all over his shoulder..
i couldn’t take it anymore that i bursted into tears, chioma’s mum was also present..
two police officers later dragged emeka out of the court into the police van and he was taken to ikoyi prison in Lagos..

everybody finally left to their various destinations, i left in my dad’s car as well as emeka’s parent and his sister left..
i was very silent all through the drive home as I was trying imagine what he will be facing for the next 3 month but thinking of how he almost raped her to death and even choking me while he was destroying my womanhood, he deserved this punishment, I know the kind of pain I felt in my private part while I was in the hospital, he didn’t even care if I would get pregnant or contact STD..
we finally arrived at my block,other flatmates came out to ask how am feeling, of course my parents can not tell them I was raped so they only said i was sick..

I was escorted to my room like a baby by my mum and dad as they stood by my side like bouncers,I looked around my room, looks exactly how I left it,I picked up my teddy bear which looks huge like the size of a human being..
I picked it up to cuddle..
my phone started ringing which was sean calling..

Sean: bae what’s up?

mj:am home now,we just left the court..

mj:he was given a little empathy because he was under age so he was given 3 month imprisonment..

I was on the couch busy with my phone with a bowl of cornflakes and milk on my lap when mj started calling..

Chioma: hello girlfriend..

mj:babe am home oo…

Chioma: really?, I will be right there now..(as I cupped a spoon into my mouth)

mj:guess where we we’re just coming from before we came home?

Chioma: the hospital nah..

mj:nope you’re wrong..

Chioma: tell me I can’t guess abeg..

mj:the court..

Chioma: the court? to do what?

mj:to punish emeka for his crime..

Chioma: punish? I thought his at the police station already?, what punishment again?

mj:that was arrest nah,the normal punishment for for rapist according to law that what he was given..

Chioma: so what his punishment?

mj:he was given a 3 months imprisonment..

Chioma: WHAT?(as i stood up immediately), my bowl of cereal shattered on the floor immediately..

mj what do you mean 3 months?, do you know what is 3 months?

mj:chioma I know, I though my parents had forgotten about it but they haven’t, they made sure he get to court and face his punishment..

Chioma: but that too much nah,why not maybe some weeks?

mj:his even lucky he was given 3 months,normal punishment according to law is supposed to be life imprisonment or maybe 10yrs but my parents pitied him including the judge because he was still under 18,that why he was given 3 months..

Chioma: but this is really sad,I wonder how his family will be feeling right now..

mj:me too I feel pity for him, sean is coming to have lunch with us..

Chioma: are you for real?

mj:yeah, come quickly so you can also have lunch with us..

Chioma: am on my way bye(and I hung up)
I looked at the mess I created on the center rug..

Chioma: gosh I hate cleaning(as I picked up the bowl and spoon and trashed it in the sink),I came back with a broom and parker and a rug brush for cleaning, after I finished cleaning, I picked up my phone and dialed my mum’s number…

mum: hello baby,how are you?

Chioma: am fine mum, mum can I go visit mj?,she just came back from the hospital.

mum: sure why not,we we’re together in court few hours ago..

Chioma: oh you we’re also there?

Mum: yes,I’ll soon be home, I just went to get some stuff from the market..

Chioma: okay love you bye(and I hung up)

I quickly switched off the TV and walked out of the house, I was padlocking the gate outside when I heard my name, my heart skipped as I heard his voice..

Adam’s POV

I was shocked to find out that Chioma had deleted my number, I couldn’t see her on whatsapp anymore, even though we aren’t dating anymore but we can still be friends, Veronica started calling immediately, in annoyance i rejected her call,she called again, I rejected it again and stuffed it in my pocket,stupid girl,she’s one of the reason my anger for Chioma increased..
I can’t believe she purposely locked chioma up in the restroom that why she almost got raped

Sean:Adams are you coming with me?
I turned to look at him and saw him coming out of the cafeteria with 2 bottled water in his hands..

Adams: coming with you to where? (as i collected one bottle)

Sean: am going for lunch at my girlfriend’s place..

Adams:you mean Maryjane?

Sean: noo Tarzan,are you going or not?

Adams: wait have you forgotten her dad is a retired soldier?,do you want to use pressup and eat?

Sean:okay I will tell mj to tell her if she can come, but guy to be sincere you no try at all the way you just broke up with this girl, this innocent girl truly loves you and you just left her just like that,I think it might be too late to get her back..

Adams: Sean am confused right now, I don’t know what to do,could you believe she has blocked my number already?

I entered my street and was almost few houses away from my house when I saw Chioma outside padlocking her gate,I quickly stopped and parked, maybe I can ask her if she can come to the birthday party tomorrow..
my heart beat increased as I drew closer to her…
I walked closer to her as she kept struggling to press the huge padlock..

Chioma: (hissed) as she returned to what she was doing.

she walked up to the dinning table and sat down beside me..

Adams: I said get out(I yelled) as I stood up jogged up the stairs to my room..

Chioma and I are in my room gisting when we heard the doorbell..

mj:I think that must be sean..

Chioma: Sean?

mj:yes nah,his coming for lunch..

Chioma: oh I already forgot.

we could here my mum’s voice as she welcome him into the house..

my mum goes to her restaurant anytime she likes because she has sales girls and professional cooks who works for her..

mj:chioma let go (as we walked out of my room)
we entered the sitting room and saw him sitting like a gentle person..
he turned to look at us and his eyes opened in shock..

Sean: Chioma what are you doing here?

Chioma: see question ooo,okay I came to check waec result..

mj:(laugh)Chioma you’re not serious(as i slapped her on her butt)

few minutes later we we’re all seated on the dinning table together with my dad and brother who had been inside…

Dad:so Sean tell me, do you watch football?

I rolled my eyes immediately, my Dad has started again with his football battle, he argues with all his friends that that Manchester united is the best club in the world,sometimes he won’t eat just because his trying to watch a match, sometimes he even get bored at home and go to the viewing center where he will shout till he lose his voice..

Sean: yes sir I watch football, gunners for life..

Dad: ehn did I here you say gunners, what players do you have? can you boast of champions league cup? can you guys ever pass top 4?,not like the plastic cups you all have been winning..,yakubu plays better than your striker..

(sean dropped his spoon immediately to face my dad)

Sean: sir we have better players than Manchester united, lemme tell you, kano pillars plays better than your club,the only place I’ve seen your club score classic goals is in chivita advert..

(Chioma,my mum,my brother and i stare at Sean in shock), we watched them as they insulted their club managers..
we we’re done eating but both of them haven’t eaten more than two spoons as they kept arguing like age mates..
we packed our plates and went to seat on the couch but they haven’t stopped..
my mum quietly walked out of the house to her restaurant,my brother walked into his room now left with Chioma and I..
in annoyance I walked up to the them..

mj:Dad it enough, you’re not in viewing in viewing center nah,and you Sean, is this why you said you we’re coming for lunch?,to argue about football?

Sean: I made up my mind that I won’t talk when I get here but I after your dad said Manchester united is the best club in the world i can’t stop arguing,who is manu when we arsenal..

Dad: arsenal that cannot defeat ordinary Crystal palace..

mj:dad pls just stop,Sean it time for you to go(as I pulled him along with me)
