“because Beatrice, I never failed you before, even when it was hard to find the guys that made life difficult for him, I still succeeded…..”

“only that? What else?” I asked, still keeping my cool and making sure my ear was still in contact with the standing fan

“and I handled the Beauty and Pretty task very well, not to talk of the recent one at his home town which was also a success.”

“hmmm. So you think you can handle this one?”

He let out a wicked chuckle before he responded.

“you still underestimate me after all that? How can the task of getting that stupid idiot to you compare to the previous one’s have done sucessfully?…I thought I’ve earned my trust in you by now with everything I’d helped you with in dealing with that fool since he disgraced you at the hotel.”

Finally! Thats it! Have gotten what I wanted! So it has been Jide all along? Gawd! What an odd world. My life is so fvcked up!

I felt like crying my heart out, but for some unknown reasons, Cry also betrayed me just as Jide, my best friend did to me.

“so what do you say Beatrice?” His voice echoed again.

I took in a deep breath and re-adjusted my position beside the fan. “erm… Jide, I already gave someone the job but if he doesn’t do it before tomorrow, I’ll call you. But if you don’t see my call, it means have gotten someone else ok?”

“hmm…ok. Have heard you. I looked forward to seeing your call. Bye.”

I was about to reply him when I suddenly heard a footstep coming from the passageway outside the sitting room.

Scared that whoever’s coming might blow my cover, I quickly terminated the call and regained my seat at the dinning table and resumed my food.

Barely secs later, Ghadri walked into the sitting room and asked me of Beatrice whereabouts which I replied by telling him that she’s asleep. He exited the premises immediately

I was now blessed with the depth of time to reappraise the details of the secrets revealed in my conversation with Jide

Its obvious that Beatrice was still hurting from the embarrasment we both suffered at the hotel and she’s ready to go to any lenghts to make me take the fall for it

With that sworn determination, I decided to gain Beatrice’s trust so my getting out of this abode will be easier

Don’t judge me for seeking revenge, cos you have no idea as to how I felt finding out that my best friend had been the genesis of my problems all along.

Right now, I’d deal with the devil just to get more even with both of them

The next day being a Thursday, I had my first trip outside the thatched-cottage building for the first time since I woke up, and judging by the look on the atmosphere, I realize that, I was no longer in Abeokuta area or any where near its environs.

The following week, on Monday to be precise, I resumed to my new job after Beatrice and I reached an agreement, where she will be paying me the sum of 150k weekly wages as her drug accountant

A Diamond Yello account was opened for me, where my wages will be paid into, a new Samsung S7 and a cloned simcard that can’t make call was all brought for me by Beatrice
