Jesse led the members of the church in worship, its been six days of evangelism and winning of souls ,the testimony of Nkem the crippled man who now walks with his new legs was so new to the people they wanted to experience this new God that changed the life of Nkem.

Nkem was seated at the front pew of the church, even pastor Jesse had hardly recognized the man when he had approached him on the street and laid down in prostration holding his feet.

“Hey… I want to serve this God ohhh…introduce me…I now believe”

“Who are you” Jesse asked aware of the attention they were getting from people

” I did as you had said that day,I woke up the next day with strong legs to walk,I felt supernatural beings,beautiful and shining as bright as the sun work on my legs, I Believe you”

Jesse could now remember the crippled man at the market

” I remember you now…Hallelujah! All praise to the most high God for this powerful deed he has done”

” people of Umumiri,what are you all still waiting for if a man like me that had been afflicted for years can find favour in the eyes of a strange God, you are then not left out, It is me Nkem the dirty smelling Crippled man who always begged at the market for meagre money or food to survive, I saw spiritual beings they stretched the bones in my legs,I can walk again”Nkem called out to the onlookers who had gathered round, most were returning from their farm ,some others were heading out or maybe it was his loud cry of excitement that attracted the people

“You Nkem my friend had just experienced the ministration of the Angel’s of God in your life,He that is set free by Jesus is free indeed, you are free forever ,proceed in Thanksgiving to God”

Jesse had spoken to the people that day which is the reason for the turnout of today’s service.

He stood at the wooden stand,looking impeccably sartorial in a white stripped shirt and chinos trouser,he glanced at Nnomma who gave him a simple smile urging him to go on,that simple smile alone gave him the confidence to speak.

“Today is a great day indeed but will be incomplete if you all leave here today without knowing Jesus…in order to be complete in him you must throw away your idols ,your fetish beliefs renounce the devil and surrender your life to This true God, He is Jehovah,the mighty man of war,if you have this Jesus you have the power to subdue any other god under your feet,Oshimiri is too small to contend with this Jesus”

Jesse paused hearing the loud murmurs from the congregations, they looked at him like he was going bonkers

” this man want to provoke Oshimiri to wipe us all out before our time” An elderly man shouted

” how can a god that had been in existence for years that even defeated the great ogbala and ogungu oku be too small to contend with,you don’t know what you are saying young man”

Another man ranted angrily

there was a commotion in the church it seems they were all there to experience an act of miracle ,maybe it was the miracle that the twins of Afam and Ngozi was still alive,the first twins to exist in their community,or the miracle that nkem the man they all knew had been afflicted by an incurable disease by Oshimiri could walk again that brought them to church to satisfy their curiosity but still that seed of doubt and fear was still sowed deep in them.

” Jesus Christ is the one and only true God, in him all powers are subdued, light and darkness have nothing in common for you to become a child of the light you must move away from the darkness that shadows you,surrender your life to Jesus and renounce every other thrones ,deities, gods and you will experience a turnaround, Do not be afraid to make that choice, he is ever ready to embrace you with love and mercy”

“I will serve this God of yours if he will protect me and my household ” Another man spoke

” you will or you want to,it is a decision sir”Jesse replied

” we want to” the wife of the man replied so did others joined by standing up most with fear like anything could happen at that moment Jesse prayed for them and embraced them heartwarmingly into Christianity.

Indeed The Angels in heaven was sure rejoicing over lost souls won for Christ.

The red dust of the earth did justice to Jesse loafers even as every of his footprint was stamped down ,the sight irritated him actually it made him Wonder if it was the bloods of the innocent that had rubbed the earth changing the dust to red,he was the last to leave the church premises since he had been attending to the people who had waited to see him.

” pastor pray for your God benevolence on me”

They all chanted and he had to give in but they were too ignorant to understand that the power of God was not for show off.

He exchanged greetings with the few he had come to know, most avoided him like a leper,he didn’t blame them they were still yoked to their beliefs and its only going to take the grace of God to bring them to salvation.

Jesse sighted an old woman who sat down by the side of the road in deep agony,her hair left unkept, she had a deep cut on her left legs but the blood had dried off turning black and the wound looking sore,she held a thin cane to her head wailing bitterly in deep agony,a rope laid close to her.

Jesse was touched,he felt a deep compassion for her and desperately wanted to reach out to her, she didn’t even notice he was there as she lamented sorrowfully.

” who will massage my weak feet

Who will call me sweet mother,my Osita…Nwam ! Ohh,I can’t go on living in This wicked world…I curse the day I heard about the name Oshimiri”

” Good evening mama” Jesse greeted softly as he squatted down to her level ” I am pastor Jesse”

Mama Osita raised her head to meet his gaze,her eyes red and blood shot ,she looked so frail and helpless, Jesse held her hand softly and started to sing softly

” No one ever cares for me like Jesus

There is no friend so kind like him

No one else could take this sin and darkness from me

I know my God he cares”

Mama Osita was touched by his warmed heart and the song so she weeped and listened until the young man stopped singing

” where do you live mama let me take you home,Jesus Loves you and He truly cares ”

” I don’t have a home ,my son is my home,they had destroyed the only pillar that made the house to stand” she lamented holding Jesse hands tightly

” okay,where is your son where do I find him”

” Ewooooohhh!”she lamented

Jesse thought he had said something wrong to deepen her pain

” Oshimiri took my Osita, my Agu Dimpa,the only proof of my existence in this world,why me,why me”

” I am so sorry for that mama” Jesse replied sincerely

” I don’t need your pity I just want to die”

” you are not going to die mama,Jesus loves you,I cannot bring back your beloved son whom they offered to their powerless god,but I bring you Jesus

I Corinthians 10 vs 13 says that God is faithful and will not allow you to be tested beyond your power…he will give you strength to endure and find a way out”

Mama Osita pushed him away surprising Jesse

” is like you didn’t understand me the one you called powerless killed my Osita”

” Oshimiri is powerless mama,I have a God more powerful and if you let me pray for you,you will find peace”

” I want vengeance for my innocent son ”

” vengeance is of the lord it is only him that can fight this battle”

” who is this Lord you talk about,can he give justice to my son”

” He laid his life on the cross two thousand years ago for our sakes ,he conquered death,he conquered the devil ,he knew you right from when you were formed in your mother’s womb,even now you are old he will take care of you”

” How do I meet this lord”

” His name is Jesus,To all that received him,those who believe in him, he gave right to become the children of God,Let me pray for you mama,I promise you would find peace in him”

” Okay pray for me”

Jesse held her hand and prayed for her she felt a surge of power moving through her as she fell yo the ground lost out of this world for a short while

” All your pains are over,peace is restored back to you in Jesus name”

After a few minutes in the bush Mama felt new and wanted to live again, she agreed to follow Jesse back home.

The late nights is weary
