Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 18

Emma sat down on a bench outside the police station while going throu-ghthe file.

She has been out there for over twenty minutes without any distraction from anybody.

Although she was glad that nobody distracted her but she felt sad that Robert didn’t come after her when she left the office like that.

Maybe he was enjoying that spoilt brat’s company. Maybe he didn’t care about her like she cares about him. Or maybe_

“Here,” A voice said, interrupting her thought. She raised her head to find Robert holding out a paper cup of black coffee for her to take. “I thought you might need it.”

She quietly collected it and scooted over for him to seat. “Thank you for the coffee.”

He smiled. “You’re welcome.” He sat down beside her. “Are you still pissed off?”

Emma took a small gulp from the cup of coffee and exhaled de-eply. “Not really.”

“I’m sorry for what happened in there. Ginny is such a spoilt brat_”

“And yet you didn’t say anything in there,” She raised a questioning brow at him.

“You know we can’t do anything stupid. She is our boss’s only daughter. And you heard what he said about willing to do anything for her sake.”

“So, you are scared?”

“What? I’m not. I don’t want to risk my job. And I don’t want you to do so either. Just ignore whatever the kid does.”

Emma sighed. “I know. But we can’t ignore her forever. She needs to know that we are her seniors and should be respected. I can’t believe the boss a-ssured us that she was a good kid and won’t do anything crazy.” She huffed, taking another sip of coffee.

“I understand what you are trying to say. But trust me, if we ignore are craziness, she will change.”

“She will?”

“Okay, maybe not.”

They both chuckled.

“I don’t care whether she changes or not. Besides, she is only twenty-two years old and still sees the world as an easy place. But I hate the way she is clinging to you. I mean, we are in a place of work and it is common sense for one to act professional.”

“Wait, have you been angry because she has been clinging to me?” He questioned.

“Huh? Why should I be angry about that?”

“Well, you said it yourself right now.” He pointed out, a smile playing on his li-ps.

“You are getting my point all wrong. I said she was acting unprofessional by clinging to you. That doesn’t mean I am pissed off about it. After all, it is none of my business.”

“I see.”

“By the way, where is she?”

“In the office.” He answered.

“I wonder how we are going to solve this case with that girl tagging along.” She gave him the file. “Anyway, it is a theft case.”

“Theft?” He repeated, going throu-ghthe file. “Hmm.”

“The jewelry has been missing for two days now so it will be a little bit difficult to find the thief.” She muttered.

Robert finished going throu-ghthe file and gave it back to her. “The Sherlocks family?”

“Mm-hmm. You know them?”

“Of course. Not in person but I have seen them a few times on TV. They are known for making expensive jewelries with pure gold.”

“I have heard about them also. They hosted a party two days ago and that was when the theft took place. They didn’t even noticed until recently. Very funny.”

“Why is it funny?”

“I don’t know. I just find it funny.” She shrugged, coming up to her feet. “Let’s go and get her majesty, we need to go over to the crime scene and investigate.”

“By saying ‘her majesty’, you mean Ginny, right?” He stood up as well.

“You know it, man. I would have head-butted her if she wasn’t the boss’s daughter.”

Robert laughed as they both walked into the building.

•••••

Abby was going throu-ghthe laptop seated on the desk in front of her when she heard a knock on the door.

“Yes?”

The door opened and nurse Thelma walked in, lowering her head.

On seeing the girl’s face, Abby was reminded of what she almost witnessed in Marshall’s office. She wonder why a beautiful girl like Thelma will stoop so low to want to get fuc-k ed by a man like that bastard.

“Dr. Abby,” Thelma bowed her head.

“Thelma, what are you doing here?” Abigail asked calmly.

“Uhm, I know I should apologize for what happened earlier in Dr. Marshall’s office. It was so unprofessional and stupid of me.”

“Why do I feel like there is a but coming next?”

Thelma nodded her head. “But now is not the right time to be apologizing.”

“Why not?”

“I came here to tell you about Mr. Gilbert.”

“Ward 205?”

“Yes, doc.”

“Okay? What about him? Is he asking for me?”

“Well…no.” She su-cked in a de-ep breath, shaking her head sadly. “Mr. Gilbert has been confirmed dead.”

“What?”
