ABBY: HEY, BABES. I HAVE BEEN TRYING YOUR NUMBER BUT YOU WEREN’T PICKING UP…

ABBY: PLEASE CALL ME BACK AS SOON AS YOU SEE THIS MESSAGE. THERE IS SOMETHING I NEED TO TELL YOU.

ABBY: LOVE YOU❤

Emma furrowed her brows as she typed a reply to her.

EMMA: HI, HUN. I’M SORRY FOR MISSING YOUR CALL. I WAS BUSY. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO TELL ME? DID SOMETHING HAPPEN?

EMMA: ????❤

“Who are you texting?” Robert asked.

“Abby. She said there is something important that she needs to tell me.” She answered, cli-cking on the Google app on her phone.

“What is it?” Ginny questioned.

Emma shrugged as she searched for signs of poison in a human system on Google.

“I don’t know. She will tell me as soon as she sees my response.”

“What are you doing now?” Robert asked.

“Confirming my suspicion which is…right.” She passed her phone down to Robert and cupped her forehead. “Oh, God.

They were poisoned.”

“That was the method the murderer used to kill his/her victim.” Robert added. “F**k, how did we miss this?”

“Obviously because we missed this big clue.” Emma stated, gesturing at the bluish rash around the victim’s mouth. “Good job, Ginny. Because of you, we have a lead on the case.”

“You’re welcome.” Ginny winked. “But wait, if they were really poisoned, how come it wasn’t detected during autopsy?”

“We will need to figure that out.” Emma said.

“Okay, if you already figure this out. Why did you say we need to leave right now when we entered inside?” Robert asked.

“Well, Team 1 already left for the hospital. I thought we were doing the undercover thing.” She explained.

“Oh, yeah.” Emma nodded her head, pressing her lips in a straight line. “Change of plans…Ginny, you are going to stay back here and look for more clues on the images while Robert and I will go to the hospital.”

“Why?” Ginny whined.

“Well, because we need to find more valid clues. You seem to be good at that so please, do a good job. Robert, let’s go.”

Abby walked into the hospital, clutching her handbag tight.

????Good afternoon, Dr. Abby

????Good afternoon, Dr. Abby.

People greeted her as usual as she walked past them.

Abby made sure to respond to every one of them until she came across Thelma.

“Good afternoon, Dr. Abby.” The young nurse greeted with a charming smile on her face.

“Good afternoon, Nurse Thelma.” Abby replied. “Where is Nurse Cora?”

“Uhm, she has not yet resumed her shift. Why are you looking for her?”

“I want to ask her about Anna, the patient of last night.”

“Oh. The girl in the ICU?” Thelma asked and Abby nodded her head. “I checked on her not quite long ago and believe me, she’s very stable. You have nothing to worry about.”

“I see. Thank you.”

“No worries.” Thelma attempted to walk away when Abby said,

“Can I have a word with you, Nurse Thelma?”

“Uh, right now?”

“No. Before you close for your shift, how about that?”

Thelma thought about it for a while before giving in, putting a smile on her face.

“Sure.” She walked away afterward.

‘You are my first aim.’ Abigail thought to herself as she watched Thelma’s retreating form.

“Your mother told me about you and your sister’s argument. Is this how it is going to continue between the both of you?”

“You shouldn’t be having his conversation with me. Talk to your daughter.” Jersey replied.

“I will ignore that tone you used on me.” Mr. Hart cleared his throat. “Anyway, I have something more important to talk to you about.”

Jersey pinched his brows together, giving his father the go-ahead look.

“I also heard that you suspect Marshall of the murders in the hospital. Why?”

“Mother told you.” It wasn’t a question but a confirmation which his father nodded his head to.

“If she doesn’t, who will?”

“They are only my speculation. I’m not sure.”

“True. But what makes you suspect him in the first place?”

Jersey shrugged.

“Because I don’t trust him.”

“That’s not enough reason, son. Suspecting him of murder is a very serious allegation and you know it.”

Jersey did not say anything.

“Marshall is your brother-in-law and your sister loves him so much. You should learn to start trusting him.”

“Hmm. I’m leaving for work now. See you tomorrow morning or later tonight.” Jersey pulled out his phone from his pant pocket and stormed out of his father’s home office.

He made his way out of the house and went straight to the garage to take his car but the chime of his phone stopped him on his track.

He scrolled through the message and saw the text of the person he has been expecting a reply from.

STAFF: I’VE SENT THE VIDEO OF THE FOOTAGE YOU ASKED ME FOR.

Jersey saw the video below the text and smirked.

JERSEY: HAVE YOU DELETED IT FROM THE CCTV? I DON’T WANT THE POLICE OR ANYBODY TO WATCH IT.

STAFF: THE POLICE ARE ALREADY HERE BUT LUCKILY FOR US, I ALREADY DELETED THE FOOTAGE. WE ARE SECURED, BOSS.

JERSEY: GOOD JOB.

“I can’t implicate myself.” He said to himself as he deleted the video from his phone. “The truth must remain buried.”
