Daniel: “Aunty Amara left us here since two(2) days and we are yet to hear from her. She told us that she is going to bring money for us so that we can eat, and moreover she usually goes out and stay up to two or three days before she comes back home”

Queen: “So are you implying that Amara hardly sleeps at home?”

Daniel: “Yes Aunty Queen…When she goes out and return back, she usually bring some money with her for our feeding”

Queen: “For how long now has she been going out?”

Daniel: “Ermm, ever since mum died”

Queen: “I see…Does she usually go out at night?”

Daniel: “Yes Aunty…how did you know?”

Queen: “Never mind dear… That reminds me, what of your mum’s boutique?”

Daniel: “I have no idea about it ma”

Chidi: “Enough of this questions Queen. These children are starving and they need to eat something now”

Queen: “You are right about that dear…Poor children, they have no one to look after them. Precious dear, don’t worry okay-Aunty Queen is here with you okay”
SHE NODS HER HEAD, I BECKONED ON HER TO DRAW CLOSER TO ME

Queen: “Honey, please can you go to the nearest eatery to get food for them or better still you can go to the nearest Mr Biggs just around the corner not to far from here”

Chidi: “Okay dear…i will take my leave now. Will be back soon”

Queen: “Alright dear”

HE LEFT THE HOUSE AND WENT TO GET FOOD FOR THEM

AFTER THE KIDS HAD FINISHED EATING BREAKFAST, WE WERE ABOUT TO TAKE THEM OUT AND COME BACK LATER TO CHECK ON AMARA, SUDDENLY THERE WAS A KNOCK ON THE DOOR FROM OUTSIDE, IT WAS THEIR NEIGHBOUR; MAMA RUTH AND HER DAUGHTER RUTH WHO HAD COME TO TELL US SOMETHING URGENT.

Queen: “Haa…Mama Ruth, good morning ma”

Mama Ruth: “Good morning my dear. How are you doing my daughter?”

Queen: “Very well ma and you?”

Mama Ruth: “My dear, what can i say other than to give God the glory. Who is this handsome man here with you?”

Queen: (SMILING)…”He is my husband ma..we just got married”

Mama Ruth: “Ehya. Chai, congrats my dear. My the Almighty bless your union”

Chidi: “Thanks a lot ma. I really appreciate it”

Queen: “God bless you ma..Ruth, how are you doing”

Ruth: “Am fine Aunty Queen”

Queen: “Okay then. We were about to go out before you came knocking. Hope all is well ma?”

Mama Ruth: “Uhmm, my dear. I will go straight to the matter now. I never knew that you were around until my daughter Ruth told me that you are around. We came here because of Amara, Ruth has something urgent to tell you”
I WAS WORRIED…I HOPE THAT NOTHING WRONG HAS HAPPENED TO AMARA.

Queen: “Okay..go ahead Ruth, i am hearing you”

Ruth: “Erm, you see, not quite long a friend of mine called to tell me that Amara has been arrested and taken to the police station. She told me that they accused her of theft. She said that she saw Amara being taken away from a Hotel when she was on her way to work”

Queen: “Jesus…are you sure of what you are telling me?”

Ruth: “Yes Aunty…i am very sure”

Queen: “Oh God..please do you have any idea where they took her to?”

Ruth: “No but i can give you the name and address of the hotel”

Queen: “Alright…tell me please”….

ANNEX HOTEL, ANAMBRA STATE.

Queen: “Good morning. Please we want to see the manager of this hotel?”

Receptionist: “Do you have an appointment with him please?”

Queen: “Not really but you see, its an urgent issue and”

Receptionist: “Here he comes madam”

Queen: “Thank you. Daniel, precious, sit over there. Honey let go”
WE WENT TO MEET THE MANAGER AND THE FOLLOWING CONVERSATION TOOK PLACE

Queen: “Good day sir…i am Mrs Queen Nnachi and this is my husband”

Manager: “Okay…So how can i help you madam?”

Queen: “Erm, you see”…

Chidi: “Don’t worry dear..let me handle it from here! Mr Manager, i came in respect of one miss Amara who was arrested this morning in this Hotel”

Manager: “Oh…i get it now. That thief. She is lucky that she wasn’t lynched or else she would had been a thing of the past. You see, she was brought here by one Mr Magnus, they booked a room and in the early hour of this morning, she tried to run away with Mr Magnus Money. Mr Magnus called the reception and luckily for us, we were able to apprehend her. As we speak now, she is in the police station. That’s all i know for now”

Queen: “Please can you tell us where the police station is?”

Manager: “I will but who is she to you?”

Queen: “A relative… We need to see her now and bail her out”

Manager: “Okay…give me a minute please”
HE LEFT OUR PRESENCE… I WONDER WHY AMARA WOULD WANT TO PART AWAY WITH SOMEONE’S MONEY. SHE REALLY WENT TOO FAR THIS TIME AROUND. WHAT IF SHE WAS KILLED? GOD FORBIDS. I BLAME MYSELF FOR ALL THIS, OH GOD, PLEASE SAVE AMARA…

Chidi: “Relax dear…nothing will happen to her okay”

Queen: “I hope so…i really hope so”
