Must Read: Behind The Veil

Three months later Mustafa recovered from his face surgery and had gone home with Mrs.
Sa’adatu. It was very awkward as his mother introduced him to his siblings. He had three
siblings; Hauwa who he has already met, Bilaal who was married and living abroad and
Raheemah, who was twenty three years and studying in Bayero uni.

It was on a thurday afternoon. Raheemah had gone for lectures and Hauwa was in school.

Mustafa stood up to answer the ringing bell. A young man stood outside asking him if his dad
was at home. He replied him, informing him that he wasn’t presently in the country. The young
man brought out a letter, asking if he could help him deliver the letter to his father.

Mustafa looked back into the house and excused himself.

“Mum someone wants to drop a letter for dad.” Mustafa told his mother.
“Collect it and drop it on the center table.” She said.

Mustafa returned and collected the letter from him. The young man smiled, exposing his molar.

Mustafa couldn’t understand why he was so happy to deliver the letter.

“Thank you. I am Kazim.” he said extending his palm to Mustafa.

Five years later, present time. It was late in the evening, the night of the gala screening of the
‘who is she’ movie. There wasn’t a mammoth of crowd at the Curzon Mayfair cinema. It wasn’t as though it was a blockbuster movie or anything. But there were a reasonable number of crowds, mostly Nigerians and others who were a fan of the novel and were excited to see the characters on screen.

Walking into the cinema were Vanessa and Kross, Jennifer and Eze and Sarah and Jojo.
In the opening seconds of the movie, a tear formed in Vanessa’s eyes when ‘In memory of
Sadiq Animashaun’ displayed on the large 11 metres screen.

The movie started with a young man throwing a stone at his neighbor’s window and minutes later his neighbor window opened revealing a lady with a model body. She signaled him to come over and he climbed out through his window, held the tree and landed in her room.
