The internet displayed Madinat Jumeirah, Atlantis the Palm, Burj Khalifa amongst others. I made a mental note to book for a hotel close to these places online as I would be travelling there with Adetola for her birthday. I wanted her birthday to be a blast. I wanted to strike a difference between when I wasn’t in her life and when I came in. I wanted her to fall in love with me so strongly such that she wouldn’t ask me for time anymore.

I smiled as the thought of me putting a ring on her finger played on my mind and lingered there for a while. I beamed again as I thought of how romantic I would make that be if she ever gave me the chance. I wanted our love journey to begin as soon as possible, rocking a ship on the shores of peaceful water.

I placed a call through to Tola.

“Hey dear, Good morning. Should we go out together?” I said into the mouthpiece when she picked at the fourth ring.

“Erm.. Mor.. Morning Alex. Am sorry but I have an outing with Mitchell?” Tola’s voice stuttered.

“What do you mean?” I asked, trying so hard to calm my jaunting nerves as the weight of what she just said pressed onto my chest heavily.

“Where are we?” Tola asked as she surveyed the beautiful view of Atlantis the palm Dubai. We had just arrived there for her birthday tour. It had taken extra efforts for me to convince her to come with me on the journey. We flew to Dubai on friday evening after work, checked in at the booked 7 star hotel- Shangri-La hotel. The flight was awesome with Tola. The warmth and tingling feeling I felt just by holding her hands tight was enough to make the flight the most awesome I have ever had in my life.

“We are in Jumeirah, the most beautiful beach in Dubai” I said, with awe in my voice.
I looked at her outfit, it was as beautiful as the beach. It was a white knee length dress and a wide straw hat with a bow placed on her head.

I gulped as I felt my body respond to her again and I clenched my fists and jaw to keep myself in check.

“Wow!” She said, doing a twirl.

“Its so beautiful!” She added, giggling.
“How did you find this place?” She asked while I just smiled, satisfied she loved it.

I looked down at what I was wearing, it was also a white beach shirt we had shopped for at one of the boutiques with nice outfits at Lagos island. She had personally chosen that for me. I only suggested the colour white.

I unbuttoned my shirt, leaving my chest bare to everyone’s gaze. My white sport pyjamas pulled down at my legs and moved with the breeze.

“You look better than all the sculptures of the Egyptian gods in this outfit” she pointed out flirtatiously.
