I opened the phone ,only to see Teresa’s picture. ”could my eyes be deceiving” i thought. I decided to call her dad’s number. I was about to call the line when the phone ringed. It was a call from an unknown number. Hopefully, i picked the call only to realise that it was mtn calling her. Lol, mtn can be funny sometimes. I went back to the hospital, and met my mum talking to someone on phone. I kept starring at me as she kept mute, listening to the phone call. After the call, she asked me to sit down which i did.

Mum: i just called on of ur teachers now.

Me:: *not surprised*

mum: and she said that you have been away from school , probably, you have been expelled from the school. Young man, do u have an explanation?

Me:: that what i wanted to tell you. Mum, just know that i didn’t do anything wrong. It was just an act of hatred or should i say segregation. Pls forgive me mum.

Mum: she already told me that you were got kissing a girl *laughing*

unknown: hahahahahaha, kikikiki.

Me:: did someone just laughed now. Mum re you the one?

Mum: noo.

The laughing came again, and this time with a weak voice.

Mum: where?

We re still joking, when Teresa’s phone ringed again. Thinking it was mtn , i didn’t picked the call, not until it came the second time.

Mum: son, pick ur call, or re you shy. U re free to pick the call outside.

I went outside with a smiling face.
I picked the call, and allowed the caller to say something first.

Caller: *sweet voice* hello, goodevening, plss, re you the one that picked my phone.

Me:: ur voice never changed honey. Its been long. I picked ur phone, might be a miracle.

Voice: pls, who re you?

Me:: dont bother knowing me, just tell me where to bring ur phone to you by tomorrow, then you will see me.

Voice: ok. You re to come at the round about in so so so junction, and dont bother about ur transport, i will paid. Thank you very much. People like you re very hard to find. God bless you.

Me:: bless you too honey. Finally, we will reunite.

Voice: hello, you said something . Hello ,hello.

After the call, i went back to where mum and kece were lying, kece was already sleeping due to the drugs given to him.

Mum: so son, tell me how you gat all the money used in buy all these thing *pointing at the things i bought * and paying the bills.

Me:: when i was expelled from school, i couldn’t tell you because of how you might feel, so i went ahead and apply for a job, where i was paid 2k daily. Through my savings, i was Able to save up to 80k.

mum: and dont try that nonsense again. You can go to bed now.

I lied down on the other bed there. This isn’t my home, so working up was by 9am. The sun was already up. ” Am going home” i said to my mum who went to the bathroom to take her bath.

Mum: ok. If you get home, boil 5cups of rice and warm the stew in the fridge.

Me:: ok ma.

As i was going home, i remember that i had an appointment with my long lost girlfriend. I got home, did everything in a quickie manner, went back to the hospital dropped the food, and prepared for the appointment. I was in the junction when Teresa’s phone ringed.

Me:: am in the junction, where re you?

Voice: am also in the junction, beside Mr biggs.

Me: ok.
