Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 48

For the past thirty minutes, Jersey and Felicia have been arguing.

Jersey hasn’t even had his bath yet because of the stupid argument. He was frustrated and angry.

Felicia, on the other hand, was more than ready to fight her brother for her husband’s sake.

They’ve been shouting and arguing since morning with the aim of pulling the whole roof down.

It’s crazy.

“What is your problem? Every single time you make it seem like I am the one at fault. Have you ever blamed your husband, huh?”

“And why should I do that? I trust Marshall and I know he wouldn’t start the argument first. You’ve always hated him even when we were only dating. You never liked Marshall!”

“And that’s because I know the kind of person he is. He is not worthy of you, Felicia. He only pretends to care but deep down, he doesn’t give a shit about you!”

“You have no right to tell me that, Jersey. It is my life we are talking about here and not yours.” She retorted. “And I don’t need your damn opinion about Marshall. I love him and I know that he loves me too.”

Jersey groaned, running his fingers through his brown locks. “I am stressed, Felicia. I don’t want to have this argument with you.” He turned to leave but she quickly rushed to stand in front of him. “Get out of my way.”

“No.” She said stubbornly.

“Felicia, don’t_”

“WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE BOTH OF YOU!?” Mrs. Hart screamed from behind, ceasing the argument between brother and sister a.k.a her children. “Are you both going to keep fighting each other like this? When will all of these stop?”

“Ask your son, mother. Ask him for his reasons for hating on my husband. Ask him.”

“Your brother doesn’t hate your husband, Felicia.” Mrs. Hart stated.

“I am not stupid, mother. And I’m sure you are only saying this to cover up his mistakes. You always defend and support Jersey and I’m not even surprised because we all know that Jersey has been your favorite child.”

“Felicia,” Jersey called out, warningly.

“What?” She barked at him. “Am I lying? Isn’t it the truth I speak, huh? You’ve always been mother’s favorite and that’s why she constantly support and defend you in every of our argument.”

“Don’t talk like that, Felicia.” Mrs. Hart said, appearing to be offended and hurt by her daughter’s choice of words. “I love both of you equally. I am only tired of the endless quarrel between the both of you.” She paused. “You both were never like this. You loved each other so much and even acted like twins until…until Marshall asked you to date him everything between you two changed.”

Felicia narrowed her eyes at her mother. “Are you indirectly saying that my husband is the problem?”

“Stop putting words in her mouth,” Jersey growled. “If you don’t understand English then go back to school.”

“What did you just say?”

“Listen to me attentively, Felicia, you are going to regret this. You think Marshall is worth all these you are doing?”

“I love my husband and he is a part of this family, deal with it!”

“No one is arguing about that fact with you.”

“Then why the hate? Firstly, you accused him of killing his patient. Who does that?”

Mrs. Hart turned her gaze to Jersey. “You suspect Marshall of being the murderer?”

Jersey didn’t say anything.

“If you keep up with this crazy and hateful behavior towards my husband, I swear I am going to cut ties with you! And as for you mother,” She faced her mother. “If you continue supporting and defending Jersey in every of our arguments, you will never see your grandchildren again. I love Marshall! It’s high time you all trust and love him too.” She grabbed her handbag from the couch and stormed out of the house.

Silence

Silence

Silence.

“Why do you suspect Marshall?” Mrs. Hart suddenly asked, breaking the silence.

Jersey pinched the bridge of his nose, exhaling deeply. “I’m tired and I need to rest.” He said and hurried upstairs.

“Oh, God.” She breathed out, face-palming herself.

POLICE STATION★DEPARTMENTAL OFFICE>

Emma was explaining the dialogue she had with Abigail this morning to her teammates.

Robert and Ginny listened attentively, nodding their heads like lizards to show that they were following up with her.

By the time she finished talking, Robert handed her a bottle of water which she collected and expressed gratitude.

“Thank you,” She uncapped the bottle and took a swig of water. “Woah, I wonder how long I’ve been babbling.”

“So wait, if your friend overheard them talking, can’t we just storm over there and arrest the culprit?” Ginny asked.

“We can’t just do that.”

“Why not?”

“We have no evidence that she dropped by the hospital that night. Besides, we are no longer the ones in charge of the case. So everything we do must be done on a low key without raising any suspicion.” Emma explained.

“Moreover, there is no proof that Sandra is the killer. Yes, she might have dropped by that night but that doesn’t imply that she killed the victim.” Robert stated and the girls nodded their heads in agreement.

“You’re right.” They agreed.

Ginny cleared her throat. “You seem to be fond of Detective Seb, we can use that, you know.”

Emma raised a questioning brow with a frown on her face. “What do you mean?”

“We need to get information from them. Just in case they are one step ahead of us.” She shrugged.

Emma thought about it for a while and smiled, “I like that idea. I didn’t know you were this smart. Your bratty attitude concealed your intelligence.”

“Okay, that came off like an insult in the form of a compliment.”

Robert rose to his feet. “I need air.” He left the office afterward.

Ginny and Emma exchanged glances.

“He has been acting weird since morning. He barely said a word to me. I don’t think he is okay.” Ginny muttered, resting her chin on her palm with her elbow on the desk.

“Really?”

“Yup.”

“Did you ask him what’s wrong?”

“What part of he barely said a word to me did you not understand?” She scoffed.

“Spoilt brat.” Emma murmured and left the office.

Abigail was just stepping out of the bathroom, draped in a white towel.

She sauntered towards the cosmetic table and grabbed her body lotion to apply but got interrupted by the notification sound of her phone.

She blankly stared at her phone on the bed for a few seconds and decided to ignore the message. It could possibly be spam text.

Abby started applying the lotion to her body, humming to a tune but another notification sound came up, interrupting her once again.

“Who could be texting me? Ugh.” She decided not to ignore the text. It could be something important.

But then again, no one texts her aside from Emma because Emma was the only friend she has in the whole world.

She walked towards her bed and picked up her phone, unlocking it and then going through the message.

It was from an unknown source which kinda confused Abby as she read the text.

UNKNOWN: HELLO????

UNKNOWN: YOU THINK YOU CAN HIDE FOREVER? I KNOW THE TRUTH, HONEY????

The phone slipped off Abby’s fingers, dropping on the bed as she took a step back with trembling legs.

There is only one person who calls her honey.
